ATAA Welcomes two new Interns
Osman Tat, ATAA Grassroots Coordinator - ATAA welcomes two new interns to its central office. Ms.Ipek Aydin and Mr.Suat Aybars Erdemli join ATAA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Ipek is a graduate in Business Administration from Anadolu University in Eskisehir and she recently earned her Masters in Political Science from IUP. Aybars has an Economics major from Anadolu University in Eskisehir and he too recently earned his Masters in Political Science from IUP. Ipek told the Turkish Times that since she specialized in International Development Administration and that since Washington DC was the political heart of the country, she felt that being in the nation's capital will increase not only her experience in a field that she has studied, but also her general outlook in both domestic and international political affairs. She added that she was very pleased to have joined the Assembly, because ATAA is fully engaged in many areas that she would like to be involved in the future. She added that she will focus on trying to promote Turkish values and culture in whatever environment she finds herself in.

For his part, Aybars said that he felt that being an Intern at ATAA will expose him to the various activities that the Assembly undertakes for both the Turkish-American community and for Turkey and he hoped that he could make a positive contribution to that end. He added that he wanted to make the most of the experience and knowledge of the ATAA's central office staff and that was sure that he could contribute a great deal to ATAA's overall mission

Guler Koknar, Executive Director of ATAA, said that she was very pleased to have two bright, young and motivated interns join the Assembly. She said that one of the major roles of the Assembly was to educate the leaders of tomorrow on the events of today and that the contributions of young people like Ipek and Aybars, to the work of ATAA was invaluable.
