WINEP Turkish Research Program Internship
The Washington Institute’s Turkish Research Program is currently seeking qualified applicants for a part-time or full-time internship. The position is available immediately. Internships are unpaid.

Turkish Research Program (TRP) interns assist the TRP coordinator with research and also undertake administrative tasks that are part of the day-to-day operations of the Institute.

Interns are welcome to participate in Institute Policy Forums, convened approximately once per week. Forum speakers include senior political and military leaders, journalists, and authors.

Responsibilities:

1) Electronic and Paper Filing

The TRP intern will be asked to assist in managing the following

information:

•Turkish Press Scanner & Economic Update
•TRP in the media
•TRP event invitations
•TRP correspondence with guests
•TRP PolicyWatches and Special Policy Forum Reports
•New contacts

The TRP intern will also be asked to update the filing cabinet by creating and labeling new folders. These files include newspaper articles, government documents, and papers.

2) Contact database maintenance

The TRP intern will be asked to enter contact information into a Microsoft Access document. The intern will also assist in updating the contact lists for various events.

3) Administrative assistance

The TRP intern will provide administrative support by photocopying, faxing, and working on special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

The TRP internship is open to current or recent undergraduates with interest in the Middle East. Knowledge of Turkish and/or a working knowledge of Microsoft Access is a plus. The successful applicant will possess attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the desire to be a team player.
