ATAA supports photo and marbling exhibitions, March 18 - April 2
The Turkish Times-Ali Mufit Gurtuna, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, will pay a visit to Washington during which he will make contacts with American officials and participate in art exhibitions sponsored by American Turkish Council and Assembly of Turkish American Associations.

With Gurtuna, 16 Turkish journalists will also visit Washington to cover the visit of mayor of one the world's largest metropolitan centers. Istanbul, a city of well over 10 million, is the only city in the world that connects two continents, Asia and Europe.

Gurtuna will bring with him a photography exhibit, "This City Called Istanbul," which includes the works of Turkish master photographers like Ara Guler. In the exhibition that will be hosted at the prestigious Decatur House Museum next to Lafayette Park across from the White House, Hikmet Barutcugil will also have a marbling (ebru) exhibit. Both exhibits will be on display between March 18 and April 2.

In a message he has sent to ATAA, Mayor Gurtuna said "we thank all the members of the Assembly of Turkish American Associations, as represented by Mr. Ercument Kilic, the President of ATAA, for their contribution in realizing "The City Called Istanbul…" photography exhibition and "Ebristanbul" marbling exhibition of Hikmet Barutcugil."
